Emmaus Padua Community offers the possibility to attend a volunteering experience in the month of July: the Association can welcome 2/3 persons in its headquarters in Albignasego (PD), via Mascagni 35.
At this moment, 9 persons (Compagnons) are living in the Community together with 2 leaders.
The volunteering experience will focus on sharing the Community every day life for at least 1 week, taking part to all the self-financing activities carried out and to solidarity projects headed by Emmaus Italy.
The volunteer will work together with leaders and Compagnons and he/she will take part to all the activities that are typical of Emmaus work: collecting, sorting and finally displaying of used objects, cleaning, taking part in the management of the second-hand market in its opening times.
Here a scheme of the work schedule from tuesday to saturday included:
- breakfast within 7.30
- work from 8.00 to 12.00 with coffee break at 10.00
- lunch at 12.30 and then resting time until 14.30
- work from 14.30 to 18.00 with coffee break at 16.00
- free time until 19.30
- dinner at 19.30 and then free time
Sunday and Monday are free so it is possible to go visiting Padua and its surroundings.
On the arrival day, the volunteer will be introduced to the Community and within the second day, there will be an education moment about Emmaus Movement in Italy and worldwide.
The Association offers bed and board with private bathroom in a room to be shared by volunteers.
The Association reminds also to bring appropriate clothes, gloves for working and anti-hardship shoes.
